Solid selection...with exception to Santigold. I can't stand her music. fricking terrible.

It is a great song indeed, however I think Stubborn Love is an even better track from them.

Man, what an absolutely awesome album from top to bottom. I love The Hours especially.

For me, the Lumineers sound too much like Phillip Phillips (or vice versa), and I pretty much have a seething disdain for anything American Idol.

The only beef I have with the Santigold selection is that it's only the second best song on the album.

This be the best: Santigold - The Riot's Gone

Love me some Santi.

I think your songs are pretty good,* but I'm counting twelve of them.

This isn't 'nam. There are rules.

ETA: okay, you win.

*One other minor beef I have is with the song "Radioactive". Am I the only person that thinks there are at least four better songs from that album than Radioactive? Underdog is appreciably better, imho.

To me "Irene" is sonic bliss. I love songs like that. Multi-layered songs that never hook but just keep building to a crescendo or an expected crescendo.

"Irene" to me sounds strikingly similar to Weezer's Undone (The Sweater Song)...and that's cool by me because I love the Sweater Song as well.

Here is the real question: how in the world have y'all let me go over half the year without listening to Alabama Shakes?*

I thought we were tight here on the music board?

If the general consensus of the board is that 6 is a woefully inadequate number of tracks to account for an entire year, then perhaps I could allow for a dozen each.

If people then begin to list 20 tracks apiece, heads will roll.

ETA: a dozen it is...bitches.

I've seen a lot of Walt Grace, Ho Hey, Hold On all repeated a few times.

Yup. Which is fine; those are great songs. This exercise is rather pointless if we don't see a few tracks pop up quite a bit.
