I watched the shite out of that clip during COVID. The playing on it is great and the styles - Chris Squire's fur boots, Steve Howe wearing a blouse that looks like he stole it from a Norwegian day care instructor.

I was just coming to post something like this. It just wasn't his talent, but the composition of the song. Much like a progressive jazz composition, the bass is used as a lead instrument sometimes, and other times, instead of laying down a classic rhythm base line, it accompanies either Wakemen or How with their riffs. The more you listen to Yes, the more you appreciate Buford's bass.
