Yeah, they used him just because he's a Detroit "success" story...and they wanted to use Lose Yourself for the commercial.
Now they have Dr. Dre and they put Beats by Dre audio in the new 300s.
Honestly though, not a bad move on their part given who buys 300s
ETA: And I'm a Chrysler/Dodge/Ram/Jeep fanboy fwiw LOL
