For many years Ministry was my favorite band, and Rieflin's drum work was a major factor in that. He was an important part of the industrial music movement in the late 80's-90's. Ministry, NIN, Pigface and other legendary industrial acts all utilized his musicianship.

I didn't realize he was part of King Crimson though. Reading through this, he had to take a hiatus apparently from his cancer battle? That's what I took from the article at least. Regardless, it shows his importance to them when they found a way to bring him back in even when they had a drummer in his place. It was just to play keyboard, but the honor was apparent.

Cancer is a motherfricker.

That's at least two members of the classic Ministry lineup gone, with the other being Paul Raven. Its amazing Al is still here.

Saw him with Pigface in the early 90s. Got up on stage to sing Suck with a ton of other audience members. Trent Reznor was lead vocals that night. Good times.

RIP Bill...

He also played with Robyn Hitchcock as a member of the Venus 3 alongside Peter Buck. Saw them at the Granada Theater in Dallas for the Goodnight Oslo tour. Awesome show.
