For some reason I think the Sundays cover has gotten mistaken for Mazzy Star on the internet. I don't think she ever covered Wild Horses

This and the Sundays version ain't too shabby!

Is a group, not a person. The singer is Hope Sandoval.

As a teenager, I had a huge crush on Hope Sandoval

I just listened to the Sundays version. How anyone can prefer it to the Burritos is unfathomable to me.

Absolutely this.

The harmonies in this version are beautiful. Peter Rowan's vocals are so soulful.

While that is a pleasant enough version with some nice playing -- and certainly far preferable to the Sundays -- IMHO it still can't compare to the Burritos version and the emotional power of Parsons' vocal.

It’s really an interesting story: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards wrote the song and had recorded it for the Sticky Fingers album. But before it’s release, Gram Parsons got permission from the two writers to record it on the FBB album, Burrito Deluxe and it actually was released one year before the Stones album.

FWIW, I like the FBB version the best.

He had to agree the FBB would not release it as a single

The Stones album (Sticky Fingers) got delayed almost two years b/c of legal disputes with Allan Klein
