As others said, just go. Wilco is fantastic live even if their studio material has dropped off as they’ve aged. I’ve seen them a ton over the years, and the live shows are excellent.

It’s been pretty amazing watching Waxahatchee’s growth. Saw Katie shortly after Cerulean Sea released in a tiny club in Fayetteville. The band has really grown and matured into a force of nature since then.

Since we are recommending music as well here, check out her boyfriend Kevin Morby as well. His album City Music is a good starting point. Also Kevin and Katie’s Jason Molina covers are exceptional.

Morby has been one of my favorites over the past several years. Saw him at Basement East a couple of years ago and he put on a helluva show. It was right after UT beat Bama on the last second field goal, so Bittersweet Tennessee hit pretty hard.

Off topic but were you in Fayetteville back when Chester’s was still there? I’ve seen 50 concerts in that place and it was the perfect venue for small shows. We used to come to town every spring for the Steve Kimock shows and stayed in town for the long weekends. Also saw Big Smith and Split Lip Rayfield more a few times in there.

Oh yeah. We've likely been at a lot of the same shows. Used to be amazing when George's and Chester's had back to back happy hours for a dollar. George's was 5-6 and Chester's 6-7, and they were a dollar cover for each regardless of who was playing that night. Those were some great years in Fayetteville.

Government Mule, Merle Saunders, Zero, Legion of Mary, Kimock (and all the various Kimock projects), New Riders of the Purple Sage, Split Lip, Medicine Show. Big Smith, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, etc.. etc.. I can't begin to name all the shows I saw there over the years.

Seen them recently and they’re one of my favorite bands of all time. Big in the 90’s but got drowned by the grunge scene.

They’re true musicians. Great live band imo.

The show last night was outstanding! What really made my night was there were tons of teenagers and college kids rocking out just as hard as us gray haired folks. Was awesome to see that they have a newer generation of fans.

Yes, the show was great, much better than I was expecting and the atmosphere at Asheville Yards is really cool. They can absolutely jam when they want to. Impossible Germany was crazy good solo.

Thanks to all that encouraged me to go because despite the fact I didn’t really know their music that well… I know when I hear a tight band. TBH, I didn’t know they featured three guitars but they clearly know how to make it happen.

Another great time was had.

Yea man. You like the dead. It’s not a huge leap. I love Wilco. They had a run of albums in the late 90s and early 2000s that is as good as anyone’s.
Everyone talks about Yankee hotel Foxtrot but Sky Blue Sky is a masterpiece
