There is plenty of awesome music out today. Way more than in times past. People are just too fricking lazy to find it so they wait for time to weed out the good shite.

If you call most of today's stuff "music," I guess.

Just as much shitty music came out in past times as is coming out nowadays. It just seems like music was better back in the day because people remember the relatively few tunes worth remembering and they forget all the crap. It's the same thing for movies. And pretty much most other "things were so much better in my day" crap. Flawed "the grass is always greener" logic.

I could just as easily cherry pick out a generic shitty pop song from the 70s and a great song today and say the same thing.

This is like posting Clint Barmes and Babe Ruth's slash lines side by side and saying it proves baseball hitters were better in the past.

There's always been good music and bad music. And it's always been subjective.

Because old music was engineered and mastered for maximum dynamic range, while new music is e/m for loudness.

This.

Oh, most music on the radio is garbage? No shite. There's so much great stuff out there if you look for it. I've found albums this year I've really enjoyed just on bandcamp.
