Why doesn't Chevelle get the props they deserve?

Live Chevelle
Pete is insanely talented to play lead and sing the way he does. Not to mention his brother is a monster on drums.

I feel they're lumped-in with lots of other faceless bands of that era (Breaking Benjamin, Seether, etc.).
No band of that time frame, no matter how talented, are held in very high regard.

This poster pretty much covers every band I was talking about in my post above.
...Not to pick nits, but I'd bill Korn ahead of System of a Down. Their impact was bigger and influence further reaching than SOAD, in my view.

There's a lot of good bands on that bill. Mr. Bungle, Coal Chamber, and Body Count are almost enough reason for me to go.

All 3 are probably just playing 30 minute sets and tickets after fees are $300.. wait until they end up on a DWP festival

Yeah, that's why I said almost. I'm not really a fan of the big festivals like this. Too many bands, not enough time for the bands you want to see. Ozzfest was about the right balance.

Gotcha..
If it was spread out over 2 days instead of 1, that would be more ideal.. but this is an obvious cash grab for Live Nation like WWWYF so whatever

A lot of people hate on them for going for a Deftones/Tool sound but they're nowhere near the quality of those two.
I don't mind Chevelle. That song "An Island" FTW.

Chevelle was pretty good at Groovin' on the Grounds the year they played.

I don't know about that, man. I lived through the high-point of Korn's run, and I don't think System approached that. Korn has sold a good deal more albums than System and were to nu-metal what Nirvana was to grunge.
Respectfully, I don't think System was nearly as big as Korn.

Korn was more important to nu-metal but I think System had a lot more crossover.. Toxicity was a bigger album than any of Korn's and their bigger hits have nearly triple the views/listens
System is pretty high on my bucket list on live bands, so I may be biased lol.

Agree they are not in Tool category but...Deftones?
They are like nails on chalkboard with same whiny arse Chino crap.

SOAD was pretty much one of the only band’s out of that nu-metal era(other than Rage of course) that was actually not only good but music critics looked at them favorably & that had a lot to do with their politics.

Saw them on Ozzfest with Disturbed. Pretty good show. Main stage was DragonForce, Lacuna Coil, Hatebreed, and Avenged Sevenfold. Also managed to catch a little bit of Black Label Society and Strapping Young Lad.

Yeah, Korn was huge, number #1 on TRL for years. SOAD never got that big, as far I as I remember.
And I hate that Chevelle gets lumped in with the other Butt rock bands, as they really are talented.

System of a Down played shows with Korn earlier this year and had top billing, I'm not sure what more there's to say.
