Coldplay are bummed across the pond but Idlewild are ignored.

You lot probably don’t know who I am on about which says it all.

Check out the Remote Part. Pisses on any Coldplay album.

I love this album. They kinda lost my attention after The Remote Part.

This album is great as well. Their first three albums are fantastic. I hope we can be buddies.

I'm a huge UK Rock audiophile, and though just lukewarm to Idlewild, consider them more Scottish soft rock than Coldplay-esque pop worldwide allure ambitious. Idlewild is more Teenage Fanclubish, or like Travis, Gomez, Foil, Elbow.etc..dare say UKish version of The Jayhawks or Blue Rodeo.

As for Coldplay, which I now detest in current form(as they truly went rainbow gay after the Wedding Crashers cliche), but loved them their first three albums..especially debut and second effort.

I've always told anyone that would listen, that Doves are a better Coldplay than Coldplay..maybe even Travis too.

I really liked their first couple of records, but have really just forgotten about them..

Travis - The Man Who was great fricking pop record in the late 90s... came a little before Coldplay's first...

I'd have bet money that Travis would have gone on to be the "bigger" band... of well..

I'd also say that the britpop wave in the 90s was by and large ignored in America other than Oasis, a few "it" band moments and singles..

I love Idlewild; saw them live in Boston many years ago. The Remote Part is my favorite. Their most recent one explores valiantly, but is not always likable.

Love 'em, though.
