Don't you get it? Fans of the Beatles should be put in their place for discussing the Beatles in a thread about the Beatles, even if it means completely derailing what the thread was all about.

Discussions are good. I just find watching the general jackassery of Electronboy, as you call him, to be off putting. He seems more interested in insulting people than discussing anything. Maybe it's just his style.

I wasn't aware that responding to a post that claimed "that the beatles didn't change styles, they invented new styles" by asking what styles they invented qualifies as a "complete derailing".
But since that's what you said, and you're really smart, then you must be right.

Electronboy, go to the Whatcha Listening To thread, get yourself an earful.
The Beatles are not my favourite band, but they´re absolutely nothing to be fricked with.

I was done posting until "completely derailing" guy left me no choice.

I get your pluck, and like it. Just back it up with something (this is in general, not as per this thread).
Comeupmanship at all cost isn´t cool.
I´m quite a douche on this board, many a time, but I admit when I´ve erred. I´ve got no problem doing so.
You and I will always share Pumped Up Kicks, in spite of the haters.

I can certainly be accused of advancing a position to its absolute end, or criticized for unnecessary assholery. but, as a general matter, I don't think I can be fairly accused of failing to logically defend whatever unpopular or radical position I may or may not have taken...if that's what you were getting at.
Here, i only chimed in because dude overstated his point with the "inventing styles" statement. A holy war I did not intend to create. Not on this day.

It was about changing their style, and then got into how they advanced the previously unknown to the mainstream ´psychedelic´culture. It was unknown, until the Beatles championed it.
They didn´t invent anything per se. They moulded it, and made some of it their own, as per the public´s perception.
No, you don´t fail to defend, but you continue on, when the point is at best moot, or not in your favour. Again, with respect to other items.
Continue on, it´s gratifying. Desist, when need be.

Why is there such a tolerable difference because The Beatles are The Beatles?
On one hand you have The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and on the other hand you have Queen's Hot Space.
On one hand you have The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and on the other hand you have Starship's Knee Deep in the Hoopla.
On one hand you have The Beatle's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and on the other hand you have U2's Pop.
Some changes in style are better than others.

The Black Eyed Peas called, they want you to reconsider.
Maybe you missed the part of my post that you quoted where I said "that I can think of".
Outside of their major pop hits I know nothing of the Black Eyed Peas so I'm guessing by your comment they changed radically at some point? Since the Beatles are a pop/rock band, I wasn't really thinking of other genre's but there is no head to be a dick if you have another example.
Whether the BEPs changed their style has no bearing on Radiohead, which did change styles and fits with the topic of the thread.
