I don't think you know what "style" means.

Of course I do. The Beatles created new styles and techniques that were copied by others who came after them. They were equally adept at pop, rockabilly, blues, ballads and all the "other" styles they created in the studio. It's hard to understand for someone who wasn't there. We were privileged to hear things we had never heard before. I congratulate you on your ability to stimulate in-depth discussion, however. Please continue to be your troll self.

David Bowie got a pass, as well. It´s called talent.

Ween plays several radically different styles yet they are critically acclaimed.

Ween has a cult following. They aren't and never really could be in the mainstream. I think that part of this changing in style that people claim to dislike is usually associated with people thinking that a band has sold out for popularity. Ween doesn't fit this mold because they never made anything for radio play.

Please name one. It's a simple request.

Again, please pretty please name one of these other styles they created.

It's hard to understand because you haven't actually responded. So please pretty please with sugar on top, give me something to understand.

Psychedelic. They beat the Stones to market, due to Keef´s legal problems.

Psychedelic became mainstream, after Seargent Pepper´s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

To say that The Beatles invented psychedelic is to simply make an incorrect statement. They most certainly did not.

They may have taken this mainstream, but that's because they were mainstream. They didn't invent it.

I hope you don´t make this statement, as you´ll be incorrect, yet again.

Yes, they created the market.

You´re fishing, I get it. You always are. Give it up.

Yes, I would be incorrect if I alleged The Beatles invented psychedelic.

Or after "Good Vibrations". I think number one (on the singles charts) is considered mainstream, yes?

I'm actually with you on this one. I've always been pretty meh on the Beatles. Not that I don't respect them as musicians , I just don't really get into their stuff.

Not possible. They invented music. All of it.

To be fair, I´m no Beatles fanatic either. I respect them, little more.

Electronboy however, is on a vendetta. I have no clue as to why. Other than, he´s absolutely devastated that Outkast aren´t music deities.

"Good Vibrations"
did not usher in psychedelia for the masses, it was an über important moment for a heretofore Archies type band.

Outkast ARE music deities, but that has nothing to do with The Beatles.

Unless of course Outkast was influenced by The Beatles. And I'm sure somebody on this board will argue that they were, and with a straight face to boot.

They were (influenced by the Beatles). However, it´s clear, your world is not my world.

Somebody's gotta break up the circle jerk or the board will just be one massive circle jerk. If it's gotta be me, then so be it.

I have yet to perceive a manic circle jerk on this board. I´ve seen some clique-ish ones, nothing more.

Did you read through this thread? The seats were arranged, and I definitely saw a slice of bread.

I did. It´s clear many a habitual poster of this site were not here. I take that as that they don´t care about the Beatles.

Don't you get it? Fans of the Beatles should be put in their place for discussing the Beatles in a thread about the Beatles, even if it means completely derailing what the thread was all about.
