I do like the message of the song and think it is basically talking about the album, since they brought back that familiar sound, hence, "take me back." I just remember when the first single was released and many on here did not like that song. I can't seem to find the thread...hmmm

I don't think I have ever met anyone who cared enough to hate Weezer. Maybe it's something that Weezer superfans get from other people because they're just tired of hearing the superfan fawn over Weezer.

I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm not a huge Weezer fan, but one of the things I like is that they're fine with being poppy, but have a sense of humor about it.
That sort of throwback sound is actually fun nowadays because not many people are doing it. I enjoyed 90's rock, but there isn't a ton left.
