re: Who had a better career, better catalog of music, The Eagles or Aerosmith?

Eagles.

In a list of greatest American bands (which would be embarrassing next to the list of greatest British bands unfortunately...at least at the top), does Aerosmith make the top 5?

Eagles, Van Halen, Beach Boys, REM, Metalica, Earth, Wind and Fire, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, CCR, Allman Brothers, Bruce Springsteen and E Street, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doobies, Talking Heads, Boston, Guns & Roses, RHCPs, etc.

I'm not sure Aerosmith makes my top 10. Eagles easily top 3. A better Aerosmith comparison would be Van Halen or Metallica who were closer to their rock genre than Eagles.
