Derek has more raw talent, but Haynes is the more tasteful of the two for sure. Together in the ABB, they compliment each other well, but as far as solo acts go I'd probably rather GOV'T Mule over TTB.

Derek Trucks Band's self-titled album from 1997 is one of the best albums of the last 20 years. It's not southern rock at all, more jazz.

Warren certainly has a great voice and writes great songs. Govt Mule's first album really pulled me in. His latest album Shout is excellent too.

IMO, Derek's best stuff is still in front of him. Extremely innovative player. He really takes the slide places it's never gone before.

Watched them play next to one another on that Greg Allman Tribute. It was on AXS TV last night. Warren wins.

You're comparing their playing and you think Warrens fat arse wins?

What does being fat have to do with anything?

Haynes was good when Woody was still alive and Mule was kicking arse. Mule is pretty boring nowadays. Give me Trucks.

Not even referring to Schools but typical phan trying to bring up WSP. Plus Dave Schools is a great bassist

What about Fats Domino?

Trucks is a slide machine. But in terms of a whole package, who I want fronting a band it is warren. He has the soul and just knows how to entertain and put on a good show.

Randy Jackson would call him his dawg.

If the comparison is only guitar playing, that is tough. If it will all involved, Warren Haynes hands down. He can sing like a motherafricka and shred with the best of them. After that Gov't Mule show I saw last week in Nola, holy shite balls.... Warren Haynes is the hardest working man in rock n roll.

Did you go to the Mule show at the Varsity? The second set after the power came back on was one of the better shows I've seen them do

Beautifully Broken into Breakdown back into Beautifully Broken with the entire Varsity singing along was one of the best concert experiences of my life. We were about to leave right before the power went on and decided to stick around a few more minutes. I would've hated myself for leaving.

On the matter at hand, Trucks might be a better guitarist but Warren is the better musician. I love it when they get together though.

I'd Rather Go Blind

Space Captain

Plus I have a red SG so it's hard for me to not like Trucks

Uhh yeah. That's what we are doing here right--comparing the two? I think Trucks is great, but I prefer Warren these days. Derek's stuff with Susan is just meh to me. Seems whipped up, sorta like a John/Yoko thing
