I wasn't a huge fan but like em enough. I would definitely go see them in concert with Adam Lambert as front man. That kid can do it justice.

I wasn’t around for many of the older guys people are listing. Based on what I’ve been alive for:
Phil Anselmo (never saw in person but always heard amazing things)
Corey Taylor (saw with SS in a small bar and was absolutely phenomenal. Sounds exactly the same live)
