Going yo see him at the Houston Rodeo next month.

Please post a review. Saw him in ‘24 and he was great. Saw him in ‘25 and he had really slowed down. He seemed to coast through the songs. Raul Malo and the Mavericks opened for him. They blew doors. Raul had cancer and died 6 or so months later. Dwight just seemed old and worn out.

Wore hairpiece before age 25:

James Caan
David Niven
Pat Boone
Bobby Darin
Carl Perkins
Johnny Horton wore one by 30, possibly earlier.

Needed one: Mike Love. Hair began thinning in HS. Was seriously balding by the time of Pet Sounds, so grew a beard and started wearing a (cowboy) hat

The Hollies drummer was allegedly fired for going bald

He did his best to hide it

You don't see many musicians on stage without a full head of hair. All four Beatles never lost a hair
John Lennon's hairline was receding by the time he withdrew from the public in his mid 30s

I never cared enough for Paul Simon to research if he ever wore a rug. But I do know he was infamous for his TV appearances where he would spray paint the top of his head, to camouflage his bald spot from the TV cameras

I don't know about bald, but Elvis was graying by the time he was 40 and dyed his hair to hide it.

Elvis originally had brown hair, as you can see in Love Me Tender, but after the main filming ended he dyed it black b/c he felt it looked better onscreen. Then he was called back to shoot the final scene. No one seemed to care his hair was now jet black,

I'm not gonna get too worked up about about 80 yr olds. It's the younger baldos who are intriguing

Brian Eno was receding even before Roxy Music. He went long hair & combover (and eventually, beret).

I call this the Slade look, after their rather disconcerting guitarist

and eventually shaved his head. I don't remember him with a comb over. What he had was a balding top w/ really long hair on the sides and back as can be seen in your photo. This Rocky Horror extra look actually suited him and his very weird music. He was clean shaven when Before and After Science came out in '77.

One of my favorite artists of all time.
