I didn't realize until recently that this EP was released in '94. I had always thought it was somewhere around the release of OK Computer. It's pretty fantastic for a quick follow-up after Pablo Honey.

Where would you rank it among all of their catalog?

Me:

OK Computer
Kid A
In Rainbows
The Bends
My Iron Lung

The rest could go in any order

The song is one of their best. The EP? I don't really rate those, since this seems more like a single than an EP. They would release nonalbum tracks on quite a few of their singles early on in their career. I had a few of their singles with extra tracks but never this one.

As for their LPs, I would go:

The Bends
OK Computer
Pablo Honey (I don't understand how this is overlooked. it's fantastic!)
Kid A

I stopped listening with Rainbows. Wasn't a big fan of the Kid A shift (though I did like that record), and this one doubled down on it.

I really like it, but I like the Airbag/How Am I Driving EP more.

Im confused......its ON The Bends, which was released after Pablo Honey and before OK Computer.

Are you asking us to just rate a single? And why would I rank it head to head with the albums?

Yes. It is on The Bends. But My Iron Lung EP came out first and it is a pretty spectacular 7 song EP.

I propose ranking it against their other releases. It’s 7 songs but it is pretty damn groundbreaking for 1994.

I haven't listened to it in ages. I somehow got a promotional copy from the college radio station before I really got into Radiohead. I remember finding it in desk drawer right around the time OK Computer was released.

It must not have made much of an impression on me. I just looked up the track listing and don't even remember any of the songs except My Iron Lung. Wasn't it a slightly different version that what ended up on The Bends?

ETA: Just pulled it up on Spotify, and it's not a different version of the song. I think the promotional CD I had was something different. I'm definitely not recognizing any of the other songs on it.

ETA2: I take it back. I have definitely heard Permanent Daylight before. Wish I still had that promotional CD still to see if it was this EP.
