For me,it's Em. I wish I can break that habit.

Em is a kick arse chord, that's all I know. I love it.
I read an interview of Paul McCartney where he talked about their first big hit I Want to Hold Your Hand. Apparently no one was happy with the song, it just sounded blah, and this was the song the band wanted to introduce themselves to the world by.
Then--I think it was John Lennon--inserted an Em at the back end of every lyric and in the chorus ... and the rest is history.
I remember this story well because I use Em regularly, and it was interesting to note how a single chord turned a potential throw away song into Beatlemania.

I play keys so its all kinda the same. C major i can break out all my tricks, something flat diminished or something I have to sit back in the pocket more. I like minor chords while writing though.

I guess the great thing about Em on a guitar,is just how many scales and turns you can use,you almost can't go wrong.

Whenever I write, I never pre-plan anything, it sort of just flows out on its own. And it seems like 85% of my songs end up being in a minor key. It fits my voice and what I do pretty well though...

I love minor chords: Am, Em, and Dm.
I also love suspended chords: Asus2, Asus4, Dsus2, Dsus4.
