This won't be a popular opinion, but most of the time "Ava Adore" is the go-to song for me if I'm craving Pumpkins.

Cherub Rock might be one of the best hard rock albums of all time;not a bad track on the entire album. NO fillers.

Truth be told, this was pretty close to a flash in the pan band. I mean to say, their career spanned one of great tumult, and they were on top of the world, absolutely top of the world, for a month, and would get knocked off.

Their legacy will be very important, however.

ETA Damn, I just reread that, people won´t understand me. They were absolutely THE top, at many periods, but for a very short amount of time. Amazingly short. They were up and down like a cork or bobber. It was a weird time for music.

What killed the Pumpkins was Chamberlin getting hooked on heroin, and then there was the whole incident with the keyboardist on tour. Then, D'Arcy became a crackhead. And the whole time in the middle of all of this - they started exploring adding electronica into their music. I remember around the time Siamese Dream came out, Billy Corgan said in an interview that they started out in their garage days as a new wave, sort of "poppy" band. He made fun of it. Ironically, that's the direction they started to head after the third album.

The time I loved Pumpkins was when Billy had hair - thinning or not.
