Haven't listened to much of Johnny Marr's solo stuff, but I've got him in my top 5 guitarists of all time.

Had a proud moment not long ago...my son and I are on a 2 hour road trip and I've got iPod playing on shuffle in the car.

He's hanging out and head bobbing to a few tunes, not really reacting to others. He's into what kids are into primarily but has pretty good taste.

Suddenly he looks over at me and says "dad, I don't know who this is on guitar right now but he's awesome."

It was the solo in the middle of Bigmouth Strikes Again.

That's awesome. There's a good smiths documentary on YouTube that talks a lot about the songwriting process between Johnny and Morrissey. I'd link it but I'm on an airplane right now.
