Beaker Street, Little Rock AR. Teen in the 70s and late at night could pick up a signal in Mobile, AL. Great station for impressionable teen.

Not a huge country music fan but will try to catch a concert at Ryman Auditorium when possible. The history and sound are other worldly.

My dad sang and played guitar when I was growing up. People used to drop by the house just to hear him sing, at Indian Guide campouts he would play around the campfire and all the dad's from all over the campground would come listen to him. He could have been on a record label if he didn't have me when he was 21.

Hooked on music: Nine Inch Nail’s The Downward Spiral

Venue: I’m sure it’s just nostalgia and youth, but I really miss The Shelter in downtown BR.

Little place called Freebird Live in Jax Beach. Opened by the wives of Lynyrd Skynyrd, but mostly upcoming bands, reggae, ska, and punk bands came through. It was my teenage spot.

Love the Freebird. Miss that place. I saw some good bands in there. It is now a bar called “Surfer”.

Es Sullivan February 1964 got me into playing music. I still do today. Best venue I have known was Club DaDa in Deep Ellum (Dallas).

I don't have a clue who hooked me on music. Was born in 70 and earliest memories of hearing music was The Joker by The Steve Miller Band and Isn't She Lovely and You Are The Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder, but it was probably my parents playing Aja by Steely Dan constantly for a year or so. Still love that album.

Best venue(and set) that I've ever seen was Khruangbin at Hayden Homes Amphitheater last month. The weather was perfect and the sun setting behind the Cascades in the background was just unreal.

I had older siblings so the radio was always on and my eldest brother played guitar and was a great vocalist. My Mom encouraged me by providing me with gear. We had a piano for as long as I remember, then she bought me a guitar and amp when I was about 11 and a set of drums when I was about 12.

My dad hooked me on music. My house was full of music as a kid, so it's an integral part of me.

As far as the best venue, it depends on the band. Sigur Ros at Saenger was amazing. Tipitina's was perfect for Gogol Bordello.

I still need to make it to Red Rocks.
