It's probably a cop out, but I'm a sucker for choral pieces - it's close between the Sull Aria - from the Marriage of Figaro (Mozart) and the 4th movement of Beethoven's 9th (Ode to Joy).
I also like Toccata and Fugue in D minor. by Bach.
Those are probably my top 3 (and 3 of the most "popular" pieces of classical music to put into film.)
And those are my 3 favorite composers.

Cello concerto in E minor by elgar. Played by du Pre of course. I feel like some of the last works of composer's are their best. Elgar, Wagner, beethovenbeethoven

Ode To Joy
There are many other pieces of classical music that I really adore, some of which others have already mentioned. But that movement, and really the 9th as a whole, just hits me right in the feels every single time I hear it.

#3 Hindemith Symphonic Metamorphosis
#4 Verdi - Rigoletto
#5 Would just be the genre of Gregorian Chant. I can listen to this stuff all day long every day.
