I love all kinds of music, old and new.

I went on a date last night and the guy says "I don't really care for music." So, we started talking about it. He said "if there was no music of any kind, I would have no problem with it."

Have you ever met anyone like this? I have a listening room in my house and I play the piano. We somewhat hit it off, but I don't know what to think about "I don't like music". Who the hell doesn't like some form of music?

He's coming over Wednesday night and I'm going to hit him with a variety of music (just in case he has never been exposed to a wide variety of music). He said his parents did not listen to music.

Says a lot about a person IMO.

I suppose that there are such people. But there is music in my head 24/7 and I do not drive my car without having my favorite music playing. I feel sorry for anyone who says "if there was no music of any kind, I would have no problem with it."

You may open a whole new world for him. Good luck.

It may be hopeless. I'm going to introduce him to some jazz (something easily likeable like Grover Washington Jr. "Mr. Magic"), some Tchaikovsky, "Foggy Mountain Breakdown", a couple of movie score songs (he likes movies), and I'm looking for some rock/alternative/techno suggestions.

Hit some oldies, maybe also DJ Krush Dig That Vibe.

Those are all good selections. Throw in some Beatles, Queen, Moody Blues, Warren Zevon, Andrea Bocelli, Pretenders, etc.

I wonder about the emotions (or lack thereof) of people who do not like music. Sure, we all have likes and dislikes, but to not care about any music is foreign to me.

That is a huge red flag that you can't overlook. He might as well have said,"I fricking HATE animals." or "I HATE my fricking mother".

There are certain places you don't want to go.

However, with you being a female, it gives you something about him to "fix". So that may be right up your alley.

I couldn't date a woman who was ambivalent about music. As far as I'm concerned, that means she doesn't have a soul. Who the frick doesn't like music?

I'd worry a bit about him. Music makes strong emotional connections. You may be dating a sociopath

You might want to warm him up with a 2X4 up side the head.

A serial killer or serial rapist or a serial rapist-killer combo.

That will not end well
1. You will die
2. You will join a cult

Seriously you have to be pretty messed up to not like some kind of music.

That's a sign of a serial killer. Not even kidding.

This is 95% of the people I work with...all of them just listen to sports radio and couldn't careless about music.

That may have more to do with the choices of available radio stations than anything else. BR radio, at least, is abysmal and I can understand them not wanting to listen to the same old crap and listening to Sports radio instead. It's so bad in the mornings that I often find myself listening to NPR!!!

We're in Houston, TX and it was specifically mentioned they couldn't careless about music but are more interested in what "Mike & Mike" have to say.

I love sports but I can't see how life without music is worthwhile.

What is it with people who don't like sports?

What is it with people who don't like movies?

I'm over trying to think everyone should like the same things.
