I was going through some old music, and stumbled across Lil KeKe's Don't Mess With Texas album. I was like damn what happened?

ESG, KeKe, PhatPat, Hawk, Big Pokey,Big Moe, Lil Flip, Slim Thug, Devin the Dude, not to mention the legends UGK, and the Geto Boys. Houston had a strong music scene, then all of sudden it just faded away. What a shame.

No post about Houston Hip Hop would be complete without this.

Basically, but Wayne still has the ability to make hits that get play across a variety of audience. Houston music only appeals to certain geographical regions and always will.

I was never a fan of Paul Wall, or chamillionaire for that matter.

The biggest things to happen to Houston were deaths from Big Mo, Hawk, Fat Pat, Pimp C and then the legend DJ Screw. Then Flip, ESG, became irrelevant. Only one that could be big IMO is Z-Ro.

And he will never grow outside of Houston because all the majors are scared shitless of what will happen if they give him a boatload of cash and a big contract

He is the most exquisite lyricist and sickest flow in the game but too fricked up in the head

Earl Sweatshirt, Twista, Kendrick Lamar, CERTAINLY Lil Wayne non of em could even touch ZRo yet because of his disposition and nature no majors would come close to signing
