What does everyone think of symphonic rock

I've been on a symphonic rock kick lately. Bands such as within temptation, nightwish, lunatica, etc.. This may sound pretty queer but the sound of a symphony with a rock band and a lead female vocalists that got a great voice is one of the most beautiful and chilling things to listen to. Anyone else listen to this genre the majority of good bands like this are from the scandinavian peninsula area therefore not to well known in the US

The technical ability of the members is not in question. It might be close if not number one of the dorkiest music genres.
I just can't take that seriously. Their fans are often seeing frolicking in the woods of a Renaissance Fair.

absolutely. remember going to that gigantour in dallas and seeing the mid forties, long haired guys with the nightwish shirts. they were definitely part time blacksmiths in the ren fair. im sure they can edge a blade, but i cant trust them to pick a band.
