I discovered Tommy Bolin. I wasn’t really paying much attention and at first while listening to Bustin’ out for Rosey I thought it was Marc Bolan. Sad I had never heard of him and sad to see he OD’d in ‘76

Check out the Spectrum album by Billy Cobham. It's a good introduction to the fusion genre if you come from a rock background, mostly due to Bolin's guitar.

Yeah, I had "Ride the Wind" pop up as a recommendation and rediscovered them. The song is a bit ironic considering Bolin's fate.

Spectrum is just a phenomenal album all around. Masterpiece of nastiness.

Teaser and Private Eyes are his two solo albums. Both are killer records and his one album with Deep Purple is Come Taste the Band. His playing on all three are worth an extended listen. One of my all time favorite players.
