Five string. Not that six string bullshite.

Anyone know any really good, local banjo players in the Baton Rouge area who might give lessons?

My dad can teach you how to break out his banjo every family holiday after we're all drunk, tune it for an hour, strum it a couple times and then put it down.

I think that's exactly what he's asking for.

It's an awful instrument to learn if you don't already play another. Learn the guitar first then move to banjo.

I've played guitar for almost 20 years. I play mandolin as well.

There's a good channel on YTube, I think the guy's screen name is "rpeek" or something of the sort. He's a trip; makes homemade banjos and documents his everyday goings on.

He does some easy tutorials of some clawhammer style. It takes a little practice, but you prob could pick it up pretty fast. g'luck

A good buddy of mine is starting to play it. This kid can play anything and is one of the best finger pickers on guitar I've ever heard. The banjo is kicking his arse so far and he won't play it in public yet. Good luck.

My uncle is the president of the banjo club of Baton Rouge. I think the club could be a good place to start.

I can't even teach myself to the play the harmonica, very musically challenged.

Someone let me pay them money to teach me.
