Anyone else fond of this show? I remember watching in high school and being exposed to some artists I wasn't too familiar with at the time.

The show would meet with the band or artist and go in-depth into how the album was created. They'd pull out isolated tracks and really discuss the thought process as to writing, playing, mixing, etc. Just a great show about music.

Fell into a youtube rabbit hole last night and came across a few. Here's one of my favorites: Steely Dan - Aja

Is the Rumours one part of this series? If so, it's the best one.

Great show. I would recommend watching even if you don't care for the music of a particular episode. You'll learn something interesting. For example, I thought the one on Rumours was really good. My favorites though were Aja and Dark Side of the Moon.

I agree with you but I will let you know from experience that the negative clicks on this comment are going to outnumber the positive ones by about a ten to one ratio.

I would argue both The Royal Scam and Katy Lied are better. There are parts of Aja that are just too cocktail loungy for my tastes.

I caught it on Palladia a few years ago, pretty sure I remember seeing one on The Band’s brown album.

Love the way they go back to the old mixes and can pull tracks out and isolate a vocal or a drum or bass part.
