What a great show. I got up really early on the Saturday morning tickets went on sale and went to the old Bon Marche Mall to get in line. I was shocked when I pulled in the parking lot to see that the line was already wrapped around the building. I was only in line for a few minutes when it was announced the show had sold out. Someone told me later that it took less than 14 minutes to sell out the show from the various ticket outlets.

Thanksgiving rolled around and that year I celebrated with a lot of friends who had attended LSU or were still currently in school at a house on Aster Street. Post feast when we are stuffed and drunk and baked one of the wildest party girls of this group announced I'm going to go to the PMAC and get us tickets to U2. We all just laughed and said sure pick some up for us too. I figured if any tickets were available someone would be scalping them for more than we could afford. I'll be damned if she didn't come back an hour later with tickets for everybody in the crew. Apparently they opened up some seats right behind the stage at the last minute.

So we all strolled over from Aster Street to the PMAC and got to see U2 on the tour to support the Joshua Tree. There was no warm up act and as soon as the lights when down the Edge started the riff for Where the Streets have no name. Everyone in the arena stood up and I did not see one person sit for the entire show.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I just wanted to share a story about one of my more memorable Turkey Days

That is incorrect.
The BoDeans were the opening act.
That was a great gig-one of my favorites actually. Top 10 for sure.
