So what did everyone think?
Was too short for me. A bit disappointed. I know it’s the tour for the new album, but I wanted more Lateralus tracks. Wah.
ETA: didn’t see other thread.

i have been to many concerts. this one was way different than any other (1st time seeing tool).
james didnt talk between songs, he said louisiana once & maybe nola lol
it was dark the whole show besides lights from the stage which were cool, but you really couldn't see james
the no cell phone policy until the last song, which is not really a bad thing
james was never in the front the stage, he was on the side stages
the setlist was solid
no big screens for up close shots of the drummer or other band members
overall, it was a real good show. their sound was solid. they are just different i guess live than other bands

I'm glad I chose Alter Bridge in Lake Charles Friday night over Tool. $30 ticket and stood 5 feet from the stage.
I've seen many Tool concert videos and it just seems like aside from the lights, it's sort of boring. Just not my thing as far as a live show goes. Love their music, though. However, I'm not paying hundreds of dollars to see them basically jam while Maynard hides in the shadows.

fricking Pneuma live is life changing.

This was my experience the last two times seeing them and why I stopped listening to them. Some fancy lasers aren't enough to make up for boring music and no energy from the band.

Did they play 9p to 11p? If so, that is exactly how the 7 prior shows I’ve seen were.
Like clockwork

I guess that was why I was a bit let down. I appreciate their talent, but there was no show. At previous shows, I feel like there was more personality. He spoke to the crowd twice. I get they’re older. I get it all. It just wasn’t my favorite Tool show I’ve been to. When they played “Intolerance” I felt the old Tool passion.

Tool and alter bridge should never be mentioned in the same breath.

No but $30 to stand next to the stage and watch a high tempo concert > $300+ to be far away from the stage and just see lights.

So what did everyone think?
I was in section 102 on Saturday night. I have been a casual listener of Tool for a long while, but I am far from a hardcore fan. Have always respected the hell out of their musical prowess, and originality. I've always wanted to see their show, and it lived up to the hype.
The sound was incredible, and the stage setup/visuals were unreal. I loved it. Evil and psychedelic. I really enjoyed the songs off of the new album.
Seeing Danny Carey live was something else. Absolute animal. Not sure if there is anyone better.
Will definitely see them again if given the chance.

Floor seats like the night before tool were going for 150. What are you talking about

I know you're trolling, but this is bad. Really really really bad.

Congrats on saving a few dollars. Picking alter bridge over Tool is like choosing to geaux see the cottonport junior varsity team play Bunkie elementary instead of LSU vs Auburn.

How am I trolling? Because I disagree with you that Tool is God's gift to music? I literally struggled to stay awake the last two times I saw them and that was standing on the floor.

So you bought floor seats the 2nd time AFTER you couldn't stay awake the first?

Everyone has an off night. Two is a trend. Their music was getting lame too.
