Not a metal fan but I've just started listening to Black Sabbath's first few albums. Tony Iommi is blowing me away, can't believe I've never gave them a listen sooner.
What songs do y'all recommend to hear Iommi in all his glory, guns blazing?
TIA

fricking Master of Reality, especially the last two songs. Symptom of the Universe is one of their best songs, too. Iommi never blew me away with his guitar playing, but he's an awesome song/riff writer. Sabbath is my fav band, btw.

For starters...

"Heaven and Hell"
"Die Young"
"Black Sabbath"
"The Wizard"
"War Pigs"
"Paranoid"
"Iron Man"
"Electric Funeral"
"Into the Void"
"Sweet Leaf"
"Fairies Wear Boots"
"Symptom of the Universe"
"Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"
"Sign of the Southern Cross"

His solos during the Dio era are arguably his best, but the man is the Godfather of metal and is arguably the best riff writer in rock music (the only person that comes close or exceeds is Jimmy Page).

The solo and ending solo on Over and Over is one of my all-time favorite Iommi solos. Actually gives me chills. One of their most underrated songs, IMO.

The middle part of "Warning" on the first album does it to me every time.

Sabbath had a lot of great songs - I think this is their best.

Into the Void - heaviest riff ever. I have to turn it up to 11 every time I play it.

Heaven and Hell kicked arse.

In the Ozzy Era, Master Of Reality was excellent.
