I concur- not bad. I like the simple acoustics. They allow you to focus on the lyrics, and the guitar mixes well with his vocals. Unlike pop country, this song is not incessant noise with too much blaring going on in the background.
It's certainly stereotypical, but he at least is a part of what he describes, which I do appreciate. The lyrics are pretty telling of life in a very small, rural town: football, a basic 9 to 5 work schedule, quiet streets, fishing, a Church-centric community, et cetera. I think that description can be applied for all of rural America.
I thought the bit about drinking in church was a little unnecessary, but maybe alcoholism is an issue in his town and he felt the need to call it out in his song.
