I didn’t like him at first because the people that I knew that liked him were all douche bags but he is an absolute bad arse imo

I agree. Saw him at a concert in Gun Barrel City and he put on a damn fine show. He's popular as hell now but still down to Earth it seems

From all I have seen and heard he is a good guy. He loves, and stands up for for, the traditional country music sound. I got into him and Aaron Watson about the same time, and I think Aaron is a little more traditional in his overall sound, but Cody makes good music.
I just hope that he sticks to his guns and doesn't let getting more mainstream airplay (On My Way To You) has been getting a ton of play on SXM The Highway), make him feel like he has to change to stay in the limelight. It did worry me that in his Ryman show he talked about how Dan + Shay were good friends of his.

I really like him. His most recent album is made up of songs written by other songwriters and they’re really good. The stuff he writes is good and he has a great voice, but the new stuff is a touch better in my opinion.
