Live Acoustic at the Fillmore
Nope. Why always the relentless push for acoustic versions of songs that benefited so much from their electric instrumentation? I truly don't get it. I mean, this version is somewhat superior to usual acoustic versions in that it still has a decent amount of instruments. But to me, it's just bled of all the energy and feel of the original recording. Plus, he completely pussed out of the Ozzy falsetto part.

Their self-titled album is an all time guilty pleasure of mine, and a major nostalgia record for me. Takes me right back to high school.

“Here's a little "Hows it Going To Be" fun fact. The song actually came about because of a sort of challenge issued to me by a former drummer of the Counting Crows. Back in 1994 we had been talking about the song "Round Here". I told him how I really liked the way the simple guitar melody went over the chords. He said " yeah I bet you wish you had written that." We laughed and I said "yeah I do wish that, maybe I will." Afterwards I set out to do just that. I found the perfect chords on the autoharp and then came up with just the right melody to hang over the chords. So, thanks to the Counting Crows and to Steve Bowman for issuing the challenge. What do you think, did it meet the test?
