even when they are "on" in 3.0, they play interesting music for about 20 minutes at the beginning of the 2nd set only, and the rest of the show is on auto pilot with no creativity. Two "segues" in a 3 hour set at one of the nation's largest week long festivals is not something a first tier jam band does. theyre not even segues really; theyre "fizzle down, feedback fades" into an abrupt beginning of the next song. phish fans represent a full segue with a "->" rather than a ">" lol. 3.0 is just awful. period. even 'the best' 3.0 is still just awful. their shows have turned into a greatest hits collection just like any other nostalgia act. I dont even know why i waste my time posting or replying to the jaded 3.0 phans on this board to be honest. i guess its because im genuinely bummed how awful phish is these days. night & day to where they once were. sure, the same could be argued about the biscuits and their current state, but if you think about it- the biscuits still have it, its just a matter if they tap into it, or decide to bring it or not. phish just does not have it anymore, at all. I had pretty low expectations for last weekend and that first set was absolutely turrible and a waste of time. I'm not seeing them for nostalgia, I go with the anticipation of seeing a good show and real jams. I guess that's my mistake. Unfortunately hearing them do boring renditions of once greatly played songs doesn't strike any chords with me. That show was a joke. Everyone keeps defending, "mreh one-off festy set whaddya expect". The fact that Phish fans expect the band to completely shite the bed at such a serious, prestigious festival is exactly why lolfishsux isn't first tier anymore. I will also point out that aside from that Free abortion, Page was a fricking monster all day and Trey was too busy diddling his wah pedal to slam in any of his layups. You really can hear how little he cares. At this point, they should probably find a new guitar player because Trey Anastasio looked worse than jimmy herring. Even lolwsp put on a better show last year in the pouring rain. Dem sad feels when you realize you missed Robert Plant playing Zeppelin songs for a fricking 3.0 lolfishsux set. I saw way better playing from other random bands i had never heard of throughout the whole festival. . Best part about Phish these days is the profit made from re-selling pavillion/floor seats allows people to afford travel to see the Biscuits when they are on a different coast/region than where one lives.
