I thought Dumpstaphunk covering Zep was kind of random. I am interested to see how that turns out. I think they already did one at Bear Creek.

I heard this dub side of the moon thing was pretty cool from someone who doesn't really like or listen to electronic.

And Gravity A is doing Talking Heads

^^ Oh, nice. I am wary of anything with Dub in the title.

Thanks for the link, but I may wait till the show to hear it.

Regarding the lack of free alcohol at Fiya Fest this year:

quote:

Just an FYI about the cash bar. The only way we were able to do the all you can drink last year was because all of that first round of booze that we had before we ran out- 840 bottles of liquor(most of it top shelf), 22 kegs of Abita and 9,000 cans of NOLA Beer was donated. The new ATC commissioner for the state of Louisiana just implemented a new rule that states that liquor and beer companies can no longer donate product to benefits like ours if they are held at venues that hold a state liquor license to serve alcohol of any kind so that makes it impossible to do what we did last year. That new rule started on January 1. We couldn't have an all-inclusive event again even if we tried. I was told in no uncertain terms by the powers that be that we would not be allowed to do that again with an event our size. We promise that we will keep prices way more affordable than the festival norm. I still think it's a ridiculous deal for that lineup at $70 with cheaper than normal booze prices.

I was more interested in the 'ran of the donated beer/liquor' part and admitted not spending one penny on it.

pretty sure they got rid of that quote off their site

It has been discussed on here, and I don't think anyone has seen a show there. It may be its first year hosting big names for late nights.

Anyway....cubes are out Tuesday

I went to the Lil Gem for Papa Mali after TAB in February. The downstairs area appeared to be a restaurant and the stage was upstairs. Its a nice space for a jazz set but I don't think any raging will be going on up there, ever.
