He was out of rehab by then. That was in '78.

Not really. It was largely just Keith on beggars banquet and let it bleed. I always loved those two the most. Keith and Mick had to push the creativity with Brian absent and the result was unique and awesome. Mick Taylor added a ton of talent, but also more structure and they leaned back to more straight rock and roll - brilliant guitarist but somewhat limited in style (at least with mick and Keith driving the creative side.

But to the OP, I love Sympathy on ya-yas. Keith’s rhythm piece is simple yet awesome and a great touch. The two solos, one is Keith and very much like the album, and Mick comes and tears into it.

He was in Country Honk and Live with Me on Let it Bleed ...but barely audible on both. That album was also pretty much all Keith.

Imo, that's their best album.

The Super Deluxe version of Sticky Fingers had a lot of live music and studio outtakes. Great stuff, but I wish they had done more improvisational jams. Taylor was great.

Not a bad cut on the album.

Sweet Black Angel might be the worst song the Stones ever did. Rest of the album is damn near perfect but that song is a turd in a punch bowl.

I've got a CD of a Grateful Dead rainforest benefit show at Madison Square Garden where Taylor comes out and plays on West L.A. Fadeaway with Garcia.
