I went there last night to watch some blues. This is an awesome place to just go hang out and chill to listen to music. It's probably my favorite place in Baton Rouge.

You an Unselfish Lovers of the Blues fan?? Haven't been to The Guru yet but it's on my list. There's a Bee Nice concert tonight and you should also check out The Dyson House. They have a ton of shows coming up over the next couple of months.

Can we hear something? It's easy to hide a mic

I like all blues. If there is a blues band playing I'm there.

The Guru is great. I've done a couple of their open mics. Always has a great crowd that really cares about the music rather than having conversations between bounding shots.

I will check all of that out. Is Bee nice the thing in that ladies back yard I saw on the news?

The Bee Nice things are pretty cool, but I'm not a big singer/songwriter guy. Most of what they, The Guru, and Dyson House book are those kinds of acts. For that reason, I haven't gone to Dyson House yet, though I may go to see Minos the Saint.

Dyson house and red dragon are both excellent places to see great songwriters.

BR has the best folk/alt country/Americana artists and venues in the state. And the scene for it from what I've seen is better than Lafayette and Nola.

I might hit that up as well. Kristin Diable (with her band if I'm not mistaken) is playing there in August and I think she is definitely worth seeing.
