Between Hanson, Millie Vanilli and this, do we need any more evidence that the masses have shitty taste in music?

I'm always interested in what exactly turns folks off about their music. I mean, I can say....I 'd rather listen to cats frick than hear U2, but if I'm asked why I can say.....The songs are all 3 or 4 chords with little to no bridges. There are little to no guitar solos (which usually means the guy can't solo) and most of the songs are in the same key. Also, with the exception of the "Edge" trying to sing a tenor part above Bono, there are zero backing vocals.

Hotel California for example I believe has 7 chords in the progression. It has a bridge (something the Beatles taught us how to do). It has an amazing dual/harmony guitar solo, both within the song and the out. It also has some stellar 4 part harmony.

But some folks like listening to cats frick.

This thread is evidence that there is separate mass that thinks they are so edgy to crapnon anything that many people like.

Hotel California is a fine piece of work, most of the stuff is just too low energy.

Their Greatest Hits Vol 1 is a one great song after the next. Not surprising in the least it's #1. Sometimes, the masses really do get it right.

Milli Vanilli had some enjoyable songs. Obviously not sung by the two dancing and playing in the videos, but the musicians behind the curtains of Milli Vanilli Still put together some good late 80s songs.

Never understood the Eagles hate. But I guess it was like how I looked down on people who liked popular music, you know, when I was a dickhead teenager.

And I'd still rather hear Surfin Bird which is mostly an A chord and not much else.

Judging quality of music based on complexity is severely retarded.

Eagles is one of my favorite bands of all time, but I still think it's a stretch to give this the "Best Selling Album of All Time" label, even though it technically is. A greatest hits album

Because they were a country pop band posing as a rock band. Also, Don Henley is a little bitch.

Eh, there seems to be no absolute consensus of this. Many publications claim that Thriller is #1.

Regardless of what others say on here, I think the Eagles kick arse. In terms of "commercial" rock, they were, and are to this day, light years ahead of most other shite that gives routine airplay.
