Big facts

If Revolution in Ft Lauderdale Dec 2019 felt like a swashbuckling pirate ship swaying into the night then
The CAPTIOL THEATRE felt like a spaceship taking off into a cheesesteak galaxy... inverted Bullets

More La fam?

Yes, just celebrated the anniversary of my first show - jazz fest 2001. Went to LSU and then moved to PA in 2002 so saw a bunch of shows in Northeast and east coast during those years. Been back in La since 2015 and now catch jazz fest and destination shows - vegas, caverns, occasional holidaze.

Not the wencasts but have listened to some of the highlights as defined by PT - 3/12 & 4/9 and a top list of jams from the spring.

Sounds like there is potential for these jazz fest shows. But I've learned to keep my expectations low for the biscuits after all these years and close to 50 shows :) I hope they bring that same energy but barber & new orleans don't always go together

If nola jazzfest become a regular stop on their circuit (which appears to be happening) then the nola shows should only get better and better.

Hope to see you at the joy bisceaux . Several of us long time music board posters will be there

Honeypot was fantastic. One of the best cover bands I've seen. Looking forward to seeing Lotus soon because of their new guitarist Tim Palmieri - also in Honeypot.

This is the setlist I remember:
Daft Punk - Da Funk
Beastie Boys - ?
MGMT - Time to Pretend
Pink Floyd - have a Cigar
Beck- new pollution
Phish - buried alive
No Doubt - Hella Good

What a great weekend of music. It was even worth the covid/wook flu im just getting over :)

I would put these 2 shows up with anything this spring or I saw last year. After 2 relistens:

5/7 -
set 1: story > running, Running > bombs, Bombs > story
set 2: M1 > orch, Orch > M1, M1 > 4th

5/8
set 1: Freebis Slinky (with park Avenue tease), Abyss > tricycle, Champions > Confrontation
set 2: Miracles > Evolve, LSD > Abraxas
