Haven't found a single rock n roll song on the album yet. I hated the last album for their copycat style. This is much more original and now I can just dislike it/them genuinely for the lack of riffs and anything exciting. Seems like it's just a showcase of the hobbit hitting the same wails over and over.

Just got to Caravel and finally some rock. Still over waily AhhaHahHaHhh oHOHHH whwohowhooooo AHHHHHHHahHahhHHhhh WOOOAHHHHHHHHHH. I'm off it boys, if this is the music that inspires you and is the saving grace of Rock and Roll then let it die. Let the metal and punk heads take the reigns. They at least put some fricking heart and nuts into their music.

And here on display is one of the biggest reasons for rock not being as big as it once was. Too many damn gate keepers

Sorry having an opinion qualifies as gatekeeping there hoss. If I didn't think the music sucked then I wouldn't say the music sucked. Natural Child are putting out stone cold stunners and yet they are still in obscurity.

Old shite: Makin It

Smoothe shite: NSA blues

New shite: Time is Money

GVF are totally unworthy of their current clout. Gimme Natural Child or Wand or Fuzz or Osees or ORB or anyone putting out some real, new, good music and I'll yell it from the mountain tops. These boys ain't it

Some of this wasn’t bad but some of it ... hurts my ears with the shrieking

I mean Age of Machine has been out a while and I take that solo in the song for granted.

If I restarted this thread I’d tell the persistent haters of Greta to start there

I’ve listened to a little over half of the album over the weekend and this take seems pretty accurate so far:

It definitely seems like the band is coming into their own and finding their own style (not easy when your lead singer sounds like great value Robert Plant), but I prefer riffy music. This album is much more melodic and proggy, which isn’t bad, but I was hoping for at least a couple driving rock n roll singles on it.

I didn’t dislike them for being too similar to Zeppelin. Zeppelin is dead and not making any more music, so it was refreshing to hear something that felt like Zeppelin made me feel when I first heard “Communication Breakdown”.
