Really - counting harmony and backing vocalists, The Band is probably underrated as a 2- and 3-part (even more) harmony group.

As much as I like Manuel, Levon and Danko are clearly the 2 best lead vocalists, and - to tell the truth, most of the songs that really endure for me are the ones Levon sang.

So, there's all of that.

Music is subjective - it may be as much as I like the songs that Danko sings better - like I said, I do like Manuel, too.

I rarely disagree with you on here, and I love Rick Danko, but Manuel was a better lead vocalist. Now it's hard to compare Richard and Levon. They're all fantastic, though.

Danko for It Makes No Difference & Unfaithful Servant

Then a Levon/Manuel push because I can’t choose btw Dixie/Cripple vs. Shape/Rockin Chair (though Levon split that one)
