I give you Muffin Man. One of the most rocking but underappreciated Zappa tunes. His guitar work is impeccable.

One of his best for sure. KLSU used to play it quite a bit.

Hey Wabbit!! I had no idea you're into Zappa. I'm working in my utility muffin research kitchen this AM.

Been a Zappa freak since I was 15. Went out to LA after HS graduation with my buddy and we went to Warner Bros. HQ in Burbank (they were the distributor for Bizarre Records) to see if we could catch him there.
We didn't see him, but saw a strangely dressed young man who we found out later was a new act on Zappa's label Straight. His name was Alice Cooper.

Every catch any shows at the Assembly Center or the Saenger?

Many. Saw Zappa play the Assembly Center. Interviewed him before the show. But that's a story for another time.

Heard it live a few weeks ago.

Did you see him at the Kingfish later that night?

No, but tell me about it.

My roommate, who worked at a record store, said that he had heard a rumor that FZ was going to show up at the Kingfish after the show. I'm like yeah, right but let's go anyway just in case. So we did and there was a jazz band playing (21st Century Band or something like that). We hung around for a while, drinking and listening to the band when I noticed Zappa standing in the backstage doorway. He's just leaning against the doorjamb watching the band. I nudged my roommate and pointed. Neither of us could believe that he actually showed up.
When the band finished, Zappa walked up on stage and got all the band members in a huddle. He was telling the members what to do when and that lasted a few minutes. Finally Frank steps up to the mic and says something like, "You people are all jazz fans so you probably don't know who the frick I am so let me introduce myself. I'm Frank Zappa and me and the band here are gonna play a song for you. They don't know who the frick I am either but fortunately, I've chosen a song so goddamn simple that anybody could play it." Then they proceeded to do about a 10 minute version of Stink Foot complete with a parable of Adam and Eve and Fido in the Garden of Eden.

Way cool. Wish I had seen that but I had duties after the concert. As I recall he was wearing his lizard boots that night.

And got scolded by some dude from the audience for his sinful lyrics and images. Frank gave the dude his mic so duder could spew over the PA while FZ's bodyguard was looking for the thumbs-up to break the dude's neck. Cheers to FZ for his contributions to upolding the 1st amendment!
I think they broke into Muffin Man after that and tore it the F up! Anyone got a set list?
