I used to just buy albums because most of what I listen to is Texas country and nearly everyone is a unrecognizable name to people who aren't big into the scene.

Then two years ago or close to that Spotify decided to cover the Texas music scene and now pretty much every Texas band is on there. There is only a few really obscure artists that I know of that aren't on there.

It's well worth the $10.

You waited so long you actually skipped a technological generation. Few people steal music anymore. Most just pay for a subscription service like Spotify.

Spotify doesn't quite have everything that I want. There are a few albums here are there that they don't have. But still. You get so much for so little.

I have Spotify premium for 10 bucks a month and it's well worth it. Still some things I like to listen to that's not on Spotify though. The main omission is Tool, but Maynard will never let it happen.

it's nice to have the torrent sites for stuff that isn't on Spotify. And yea, there is a lot not there.

Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, etc. all cost you a little over $100 a year for basically any song you want plus playlists, streaming stations, etc. I agree with others that say to go through the exercise of getting free music just isn't worth the hassle.

Actually if you are an Amazon Prime member, their Unlimited Music service is $80/year. I had to switch from Microsoft Groove just because of that price.

I used to steal lots of music. I still bought albums that I really liked. Since the dawn of Spotify, it's just not worth the effort. I'd rather have access to stream almost anything that I want whenever I want for $10 / month than have to waste time downloading crap to my phone, which only has a limited amount of space anyway.

all of this.

it's just so convenient using a streaming service like spotify. i don't want to know how many hours of my life i spent downloading music and burning cd's back in the day.

i'm happy to pay the $10/month and have access to most everything, and for the albums I love I'll buy the record.
