About once a year I go on a Supertramp binge...and I am reminded just how phenomenal this band is.

“Crime of the Century” the album where they found their style and sound that would carry on into the next ten years.

“Crisis, What Crisis?” goes deep with a few long works.

“Even in the Quietest Moments” has songs with multiple layers and harmonies.

“Breakfast in America” is just fantastic—beginning to end.

“Famous Last Words” from 1982, is one of my favorites. Again, every song on it is good.

It’s a shame Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies vastly different musical styles and strong heads caused them to drift apart and argue to the point where they don’t speak. That is what made the band so damn good.

I try to get into them, but I struggle getting past the falsetto.

Some voices grind me.

Loved them up until Breakfast in America then lost interest. Only a few songs on that album that were on the same level as the earlier stuff. Crime of the Century is one of my favorites OAT.

Crisis? What Crisis? is my personal favorite, but all the albums you listed are essential. The Crime Of The Century and Breakfast In America expanded editions are worthy buys, just for the bonus concerts on disc 2.

Roger Hodgson still seems to keep himself somewhat busy, but damn, the Supertramp Facebook page hasn't had an update since 2015, where their final post informed people about their tour being cancelled....nada about anything since.

The majority of the notable stuff was written and sung by Roger. Want to see Supertramp, go see Roger.

Breakfast In America is one of the greatest albums of the late 70s disco era, IMHO. It was sort of a Supertramp's "greatest hits" album, as the title cut, Take The Long Way Home, Logical Song and Goodbye Stranger were all monster hit singles. And...there was nary a disco track on the entire album!

Now I believe in what you say
Is the undisputed truth
But I have to have things my own way
To keep me in my youth
