Does anyone have experience with record turntables? I have a few records and have been thinking about buying a turntable so I can listen to them. But I have no idea which ones are good for hooking up to a home receiver.

Thanks Man. That's gonna help alot. My biggest question was if I needed a preamp. But your post answered that. I have a Yamaha receiver with phono input. So all I need is the turntable. Good deal.

I have a Yamaha with phono input as well, but I use a phono pre-amp anyway. To be honest I have never tried the phono input on the receiver because the pre-amp was a gift.

There are lots of great new and vintage options, but I have a Denon DP-300F and I can't recommend it highly enough. LINK
