I’ve got tickets for his show here in KC in a few weeks.

He said it was over three hours straight. It was a 3 hour straight jam band and reminded him of the Grateful Dead concert.
I looked at the set list and he played 16 cover songs out of 31
he's been on a heater lately. Listened to a few of his shows. Got a great band behind him
I've seen where he got into the dead late in life after playing with dead and co or whatever in Mexico. Jerry was a big bluegrass guy and sturgill loved it.
Dead stuff aside, Sturgill has always been a big Waylon guy and Waylon used to play long shows filled with covers.

Like Turnpike Troubadours, Black Keys, and some other bands, recently, his team booked venues that were too big, thinking there was larger demand for than there actually was.
Or they're charging too much. I just looked on ticketmaster and probably 1/4 of the seats are left open as of now for a show a little over a month out.
I bought 4 seats on presale for $575 and really had to convince myself it'd be worth it.

Ticket prices really are out of hand, these days.
When Sturgill played the Saengar in New Orleans in 2016, I paid about $50/ticket.
When I went to see Turnpike at The Wharf in 2023, I paid about $115/ticket.
