Sturgill is opening for GNR next week, 3 shows

Does this seem like an odd pairing?

I'm super pissed, I have GNR tix for 2 weeks from today and of course Sturgill will be gone

I get to see LIVE

Not an odd pairing if you've been following the tour. They have been mixing up openers since they started touring last year.

Stapleton opened up when I saw them. They have had openers from Alice In Chains to Lenny Kravitz to Sturgill.

I think it's a cool idea. Stapleton rocked and Crowd was into it.

I thinking having Skrillex open for them was a stranger pairing.

Live is infinitely better than Sturgill if they have their original singer

I think having Sturgill open for them is great. I am not a country music fan but have heard Sturgill's music & he is as real as it gets. I am thinking about driving over to Little Rock for the show next Saturday.

LOLOLOL

Live sucks. Shitty, cheesy 90s music.

Sturgill is one of the best in music and will easily outperform Gnr

Well you shouldn't underestimate GnR. Those dudes aren't fricking around. Sturgill is great and puts on a hell of a show, but GnR is still one of the best touring groups of all time.

Their show last year was fantastic, one of the best I've ever seen. They played for two and a half hours nonstop. Everyone in the band got their moment in the spotlight. I don't think there's too many bands right now that can even match them live.

I'm not really a fan of GNR. Just a preference

It would've been more odd had it been a few months back. I think it's great and pretty on point. Hell, the only reason I'm seeing them in Little Rock next week is due to him. I like GnR but aren't they a bit of a novelty act at this point?

Ummm far from it. They are raking in Millions and Millions of dollars on this tour. Far and away more than anyone else on the planet. They aren't playing Casino gigs for a few bucks, they are selling out stadiums across the world and putting on a helluva show.

Came to post this.

Sturgill should do better. A crowd paying to see Slash can probably appreciate good guitar playing.

Yep, no matter how many stadiums they sell out.

I saw GNR twice in their 90's heyday. First time they were great. Second time (with Metallica) they weren't good.

Last year at the Dome they exceeded all my expectations, which were still pretty high.

I second this. I have never gone to a show with such low expectations & left just blown away like with the show at the Superdome last summer. I saw GNR at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Jan 92 with Soundgarden opening & they were not that good. They are on fire right now.
