and better than Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner. Change my mind.

Bonus Woodstock nuggets:

Canned Heat - A Change is Gonna Come incredible performance caught with nice camera work, amplified by the random fan jumping on stage and hugging Bob Hite

Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit Grace Slick's vocals at the end are just perfection. That last note she holds...

Michael Shrieve is a badass and was a monster during that performance.

There should be a Michael Schrieve score pusssy for life card because Woodstock.

That said, Sly & his family was pretty fricking awesome.

Does Pete Townshend throwing Abbie Hoffman off the stage count as a performance?

Santana was great, as was The Who, and Sly

Another one was Richie Havens to start it off

Thought Hendrix was terrible as was CS&N

It was actually CSN&Y, little known fact, Neil Young joined in after "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" for the rest of their set, but would not let them use it for the film, or allow his name to be listed on the album.

Was an impressive performance FO SHO, so many bands/artists killed it at Woodstock, maybe Janis was a lil underwhelming but it wasn't like it was a completely dreadful performance

I don't know if any of Janis' live performances can stand up to Monterey. That said, she was amazing when I saw her in Prairieville.
