I may have asked before, a while back, but some new posters, might have some new ideas.

You, must be great at it. You have the best ideas in the world, and everybody is wanting to steal them. I bet you have songs about how bad arse you are.
I do some stealing, but I always steal from the old tried and true folks, and I hope that they recognize it.
Hell, if you did something that made some money, I'll be glad to steal something from that. Just let me know.
If you are just another frick, trying like I do.. no thank you, I don't need your amateur stuff. I'm more confident in my amateur stuff, than I am in yours.
I would be glad to have discussions though, about the process. There aren't many places to do it.

...and that, my friends, is how you get people interested in collaborating with you.

One poke over the line, Sweet Jesus
One poke over the line
Sitting at a keyboard poking
One bloke over the line.

I'm not looking for a collaborator, unless it's somebody who already is knocking on the door of success. Even then, I wouldn't need to write anything new, just adapt something that I already have. I'm only trying to make an avenue, for people to discuss creative methods. More for other people to benefit from, than myself. I already have more material than I can ever get finished recording in my lifetime. More writes itself every day.

Something like this, it would have been a great tool for me back years ago, maybe it will help somebody else now.

It’s a great idea in theory. Probably would be more productive to make contacts and share privately. You’ve already pulled one frickwit out of the crowd. There will be more.

I handled that all wrong. Sometimes my pain meds wear off, and I wake up in the middle of the night with a short fuse.

Just a good ole Baw Eatin a corndog
His wife is screamin that the toilet is clogged
She always finds a way to kill his buzz
Turnin out to be just like her Mamma was

Crochet doylies appear from thin air
ceramic chickens are peckin everywhere
He never thought life would end up this way
And it gets worse everyday

When you need a witch doctor you can't find one
Where are the voodoo queens
When you need some voodoo done?-askin for a friend
He could really use a magic spell or two
living a nightmare on the bayou

She just sits at the table in the kitchen
studying book of faces like religion
She never wants to go kayakin or fishin - anymore
She aint the fun gal that she was before

I'm starting to get a Beatles vibe..Maybe more Tom Petty
Just picking it fast A7 D7 E7 throwing C7 and F#minor here and there

Working Title : Nightmare On The Bayou? A lot there to work with.
..well SUB..you started this..You done now?
Anybody want to kick in a few lines?

I like it, it's a little more creepy, give us one more line for a better direction. Or a few.

Just a good ole, corndog eat'n baw,
who's wife's scream'n the toilet's clogged
She'll always kill his buzz,
when he defaults on flushing the remains

Remains, remain, he wonders why he's here.
Remains, remain, till he looks at what remains (noodles 2bar solo)

Turn'in out to be like her Mamma,
Crochet doylies from thin air
Ceramic chickens are peckin everywhere
Who'd a thought life would end up this way

Worst days he's thinking witch doctor,
When she's voodoo queen and he's need'n some too?
She once cast a magical spell,
now it's a nightmare on the bayou.

Remains, remain, he wonders why he's here.
Remains, remain, till he looks at what remains (noodles 4bar solo)

She's sitting at the table,
book of faces, it's near like religion
We use to go kayakin or fishin
now she ain't that fun gal no more

Remains, remain, he wonders why he's here.
Remains, remain, till he looks at what remains
(noodles 4bar solo)

Remains. . .

He's think'n remains are better than good.

Let's do this: You and me both record a simple demo of our versions and put them on here. Got to give SUB a 1/10th writing credit at least.. I kind of like where it went.

... still waiting on you to flesh it out some more, put on some finishing touches, round it out, and make it better. As simple revision and not finished.

I just kinda took the heretofore and squared it up, like using an outline and formatting it a bit in order to get going. Kinda like the old game where one person adds a line and another a next; however bypassing the one line at a time, by adding a hook (or trying to).

I was thinking.. he somehow manages to achieve mind control over a big arse gator and hatches a plot to get her out by the water somehow....

Maybe he decides to have a big yard sale out on his pier and sell off some of his old hunting and fishing gear, he knows she'll come down for that, so she can keep up with how much money he makes.

Are you looking for lyrics, melodies, or both. I’ve been struggling more with the latter than the former lately. My usual process has always been chords and melodies first then lyrics. I’ve struggled to adapt chords to lyrics, however, lately, I can only seem to write lyrics.

She gets tired of him fishing all the time and turns his best friend and fishing buddy into an alligator. The alligator gets revenge. The wife loses her and, she becomes a pirate/golf legend.

I'm not really looking for either, I thought it might be a fun thing to try, and it has been. This little thing that SUB started, took on a life of it's own, and I'm having fun thinking about it. It really triggered a fun goofy story in my head. I know he probably put up that line as a joke, and I thought about some words that I could rhyme with corndog, hog, frog, smog, jog, log, but when I thought clog, the first thought I had was toilet, and then I thought, that's a buzz killer...then the story started taking shape to me.
Whenever I write, even if it isn't a story song, I try to build a story in my head, of what the person(s) in the song are dealing with, so everything is cohesive and not just words thrown together.

I usually Kind of have an idea of a melody in my head as I'm writing words. Things usually come to me when I don't have a guitar in my hand. It can be anything that starts it, a screwed up wheel on a shopping cart, that's making a rhythm while I'm pushing it through the store, a train, a machine hammering. Never know. Sometimes I just see something driving down the road, but I always try to have a melody in mind right from the start. If I try to write words, then put them to music, it doesn't work very well for me.
Then, when I get to sit down with my guitar and work on whatever I have, I will try some things that might send the words in a new direction.

I do have something that I am having trouble finishing, if you are interested in jumping in on it. It's a funny goofy song with a story. I think I have a good hook, it's called, Low Man On The Totem Pole At Big Chief's Burger Teepee. Think Highway 66. It's a love song.
